This excursion allows us to go along the Sile, the longest resurgence river in Europe. While following its twists and turns at a leisurely pace, we will go past the Trevisan lowlands until we arrive at the Venice lagoon. This itinerary follows the river banks up to one of the most beautiful stretches, where there is still a tangible bond between man and river.
We will leave from the beautiful city of Treviso to then find along our itinerary, the towns of Silea (with its cemetery of abandoned burci, old river barges), Casier (a spacious river port, with a unique water clock), and the town of Casale sul Sile. Here is where we will stop for our lunch break at a typical restaurant on the riverside. Following along the river Sile, we will come into the small town of Musestre in the late afternoon, where the parish church faces the Musestre river, and finally Quarto d’Altino, with the possibility of heading on until we reach the lagoon. The same route can be taken in the other direction.
