Day 1 – Mestre
Individual arrivals. Overnight at the reserved hotel in Mestre.

 

Day 2 – Mestre/Venice – Chioggia (35 kms)
Leaving Mestre today we head into Venice pedaling on the 4km bridge “della Libertà” to Tronchetto island. From here we take the car ferry to Lido island passing by Giudecca canal and in front of St. Mark’s square. Once arrived to Lido we pedal along its lagoon and seashore sides to Malamocco, the former Doge’s residence before St.Mark’s. Continue to Alberoni, from where we take the car ferry to the island of Pellestrina. Cycle along the lagoon passing the fisherman villages of San Pietro in Volta, Portosecco and Pellestrina. Possibility to visit Cà Roman, an uncontaminated natural reserve, where it is possible to stop for some bird-watching. Then a ferry to Chioggia for the overnight at the hotel.

 

Day 3 – Chioggia – Padova (60 kms)
We will be pedaling along the two rivers that carried trade in and out of Venice centuries ago: the Bacchiglione and Brenta rivers. We continue onto Strà, famous for the majestic Villa Pisani. On Arrival in Padova, we will find the great basilica dedicated to St. Anthony, the historic Caffè Pedrocchi and Prato della Valle. Overnight at the reserved hotel in Padova.

 

Day 4 – Padova – Vicenza (50 kms)
The Bacchiglione river points the way out of the city and you reach Costozza, a little town at the foot of the Berici hills.
The bike paths passes in from of La Rotonda, the most famous of the Palladian villas. Just before entering Vicenza you see Villa Valmarana ai Nani with its marvelous frescoes by Tiepolo. Overnight at selected hotel in Vicenza.

 

Day 5 – Vicenza – Bassano del Grappa (40 kms)
From Vicenza cycle towards Marostica, famous for its castle and the chessboard in the main square. The last stop is Bassano del Grappa with its covered wooden bridge and the world famous liquor, the “grappa”. Overnight at the reserved hotel in Bassano.

 

Day 6 – Bassano del Grappa – Treviso (65/40 kms)
You enter Asolo, which presents the only real uphill section of our ride. The downhill run takes you to the land of Prosecco vineyards and on to Maser. Possibility to shorten the stage of 25 kms by taking the train from Montebelluna to Treviso. Overnight at the reserved hotel in Treviso.

 

Day 7 – Treviso – Mestre/Venice (45 kms)
Leaving Treviso behind we follow the course of the river Sile up to Casale. At the end of the trip Venice awaits for an evening among canals and narrow streets. Overnight at the reserved hotel in Mestre.

 

Day 8 – Mestre
Departure after breakfast. Possibility to book extra nights.

The itinerary is completely in the low-land except for 1 km slope in Asolo.
